Insurance coverage & electronic door locks
Many customers ask themselves whether their insurance company is still liable in the event of a break-in if an electronic door lock has been installed in their door.
However, that is not a problem. The insurance company is only interested in whether the door was locked. Our locking cylinders lock just like a regular key. In general, it can be said that as soon as there are signs of forced entry on the door, the insurance company must cover the damage.
And since our locks cannot be cracked electronically due to the AES 128-bit encryption used, the break-in must be carried out mechanically by using force. This of course creates traces on the door and the insurance company is liable to pay.
