Sorex App User Guide
1. Installation
Search for the SOREX SmartLock app in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it.
2. Log in/Registration
If you are already registered, log in using your credentials.
Otherwise, register using your email address or phone number.
Warning: The email address or phone number is required so you can recover access to your account if you lose your smartphone or forget your password.
3. Account Informationen
To access your account information in the Sorex SmartLock app, navigate to "Me" .
Here you can, for example, change your profile picture or name, view information about your existing account, or reset your password.
4. Push-Notifications
To enable push notifications, first tap "Settings" on the "Me" page of the SOREX SmartLock app.
A page opens where you select "Push Notifications" at the top.
Tap the small switch on the right to activate the function.
Then enable notifications for the SOREX SmartLock app in your smartphone’s system settings so you can receive notifications (e.g. when the door is opened).
After activation, the switch is highlighted in blue, indicating that the function has been successfully enabled.
5. Reset Password
To reset your password, first tap the profile picture on the "Me" page to access your account information.
Now tap "Reset Password".
To set a new password, first enter your current password, then enter the new password twice and confirm by tapping "Save".
If you have forgotten your password, tap “Forgot password?” at the bottom. Enter a phone number or email address and the new password, then tap “Get code”. You will receive a verification code, which you can enter in the corresponding field. Finally, tap “Reset password” at the bottom.
6. Log out
To log out of the currently signed-in account, first open the app settings.
To log out, tap "Log out" at the bottom.
7. Delete Account
To permanently and irreversibly delete your account, tap "Delete account" at the bottom right of the app settings. You will receive a verification code via phone number or email, which you must use to confirm the deletion of your account.
8. Add Lock
To add a new lock, tap the + icon at the top right of the main page of the SOREX SmartLock app.
A page opens where you select "All Smart Locks" at the top.
The app will now search for nearby locks. Tap the detected lock.
Warning: To ensure the lock can be found, you must wake it up by briefly touching the keypad or fingerprint sensor. In addition, Bluetooth must be enabled on your smartphone.
You can now assign a suitable name to your lock and complete the setup.
The added lock will now be displayed on the main page of the app. If multiple locks are available, they will be shown in a list, where you can tap the desired lock to view more details.
9. Firmware Update
To update the lock firmware to the latest version, first open the “Settings” of the selected lock.
Then tap “Firmware Update”.
By tapping “Check for update”, the app will check whether an update is available. If so, the firmware update will be carried out.
10. RFID-Cards
10.1 Add RFID-Card
To assign a medium (RFID chip) to a lock, first tap the desired lock and then tap “Cards”.
Now tap “Add Card” at the bottom.
You now have the option to set the authorization of the medium to:
Permanent: Permanent access
Timed: Access within a defined from–to time period
Cyclic: Recurring access, e.g. every week from Monday to Friday
You can also assign a name. Then tap “OK”.
Then follow the instructions in the app to pair the medium with the corresponding lock.
10.2 Delete RFID-Card
To remove a medium (RFID chip) from a lock, first tap the desired lock and then tap “Medium”.
Then select the medium you want to remove.
Tap “Delete” and then confirm again by tapping “Delete”.
11. Fingerprint
11.1 Add Fingerprint
To add new fingerprints, first tap the desired lock and then tap “Fingerprints”.
Then tap “Add fingerprint” at the bottom.
You can now assign a name and choose whether the user should have permanent or time-controlled access.
After tapping “Next”, please follow the instructions in the app to enroll the fingerprint on the corresponding device.
Warning: The lock must be within Bluetooth range of the smartphone.
Warning: To further improve the recognition rate, we recommend enrolling the same finger a second time.
11.2 Delete Fingerprint
To remove a fingerprint from a lock, first tap the lock in the app and then tap “Fingerprints”.
Now select the stored fingerprint you want to delete and tap it.
Now tap “Delete” at the bottom and confirm the process again by tapping “Delete”. The fingerprint is now removed from the device.
Warning: The lock must either be within Bluetooth range of the smartphone or connected to a gateway.
12. Passcodes
12.1 Generate Passcode
To generate a PIN, first tap the desired lock and then tap “Passcode”.
Then tap “Generate Passcode” at the bottom.
Enter a name and tap “Generate PinCode”. A random PIN code will then be generated and displayed.
12.2. Set custom Passcode
To create a PIN, first tap the desired lock and then tap “Passcodes”.
In the next window, select “Custom” at the top of the menu bar.
Choose either permanent access or specify the validity period. Enter the name and your desired access code. Finally, tap “Set access code” to transfer the code to the door lock.
Warning: Please note that the numeric code must be 4–9 digits long.
12.3 Delete Passcode
First, tap “Passcode” on the home screen and then select the user you want to delete.
In the following window, tap “Delete” to remove the selected user.
13. eKeys
13.1 Invite user
To send eKeys (digital keys), first tap “eKeys” on the home screen and then tap “Send eKey”.
A window appears in which you have four different options to grant someone access:
- Timed: From–to time period
You can select a time period during which the person who receives the eKey can unlock the product using the SmartLock app. Outside the valid time period, the lock can no longer be opened and is displayed as “inactive”. - Permanent: Permanent access
The person who receives the eKey can open the lock permanently. - One-time: Access for a single opening
After one successful opening, the lock cannot be opened again. It is automatically removed from the SmartLock app. - Cyclic: Recurring access, e.g. every week from Monday to Friday
Access to the lock is only possible on the defined days and times, which can be set to repeat.
You must always specify the recipient account (phone number or email address) and a name. You can also enter additional information, such as the period during which access should be valid. Finally, tap “Send” to send the invitation.
The specified person who receives the eKey will now see the lock in the SmartLock app (after logging in with their credentials) and can unlock it.
13.2 Remove user
To remove users, first open the user list via “eKeys”.
Then tap the corresponding user to select them.
A window with user information will now open. To delete the user, tap the red “Delete” button at the bottom.
14. Remote unlock
With remote unlocking, you are no longer limited to the Bluetooth range of your smartphone and can open your lock from anywhere, provided the lock is connected to a gateway or has Wi-Fi functionality.
To do this, tap the small icon to the right of the lock button.
15. Passage Mode
Using Passage Mode, a lock can remain unlocked for a defined period until it automatically locks again after the passage mode ends or is locked manually. To do this, first select a lock and tap “Settings”.
Then tap “Passage Mode”.
Here you can enable or disable Passage Mode.
16. Auto Lock
With this function, the lock automatically locks after the set time. To do this, first open the “Settings” of the selected lock.
Then tap “Auto Lock”.
Here you can enable or disable the function and set the unlocking duration in seconds.
17. Lock Sound
You can enable or disable voice prompts and acoustic feedback when interacting with the lock. To do this, first select the desired lock and then tap “Settings”.
Then tap “Lock Sound”.
Here you can enable or disable the function.
18. Records
To view the logs of a lock, first select the desired lock and then tap “Records”.
You will then see a list of successful and failed unlock attempts. Details of each opening (RFID, app, Passcode, etc.) are also displayed.
19. Delete Smart Lock from app
You can remove a device from the app by first selecting the desired lock and then tapping “Settings”.
At the bottom, you will find the “Delete” button. When removing the device, you must enter your password to confirm. Please note that the device must be within range and that it will be reset automatically.
Warning: If you no longer have access to your device (e.g. the device is defective), you can remove it from the app in the following way:
Open the app and first tap “Me” on the main page. In the menu that opens, tap “System Management”. Then select “Transfer Device”. Next, tap “Transfer Lock(s)”, select the desired lock, and confirm with “Next”.
Using the “Remove the malfunctioning lock” button, you can now delete the device. Confirm the action with your account password.
Important: Only delete the device in this way if you no longer have access to the device.
20. Set up Amazon Alexa
Sorex SmartLock: Activate Amazon Alexa
- Before you can use the lock with Amazon Alexa, you must first activate the option in the lock settings. To do this, go to "Amazon Alexa" and enable the option "Remote opening".
20.1 Amazon Alexa: Activate skill
- Sign in with your Amazon account or register in the Amazon Alexa – app.
- In the Amazon Alexa – app, go to “More” at the bottom and then to “Skills and games” and search for the skill “TTLock”.
After activating the skill, a login window will appear where you can login with the same access data as in your Sorex Smart Lock – app. Your account will now be linked to the Amazon Alexa application.
- All smart home capable locks can be seen under “Devices” and “Locks”.
Note: With a tap on the lock – icon you can unlock the smart lock remotely.
20.2 Amazon Alexa: Open lock with voice control
To unlock the lock using a voice command or the Alexa app, you must first activate this option in the Amazon Alexa – app and configure a corresponding confirmation code (voice code).
Therefore, go to the settings of the selected lock and activate “Unlock by app” and “Unlock by voice”. Afterwards follow the instructions of the Amazon Alexa – app.
21. Set up Google Home
21.1 Sorex SmartLock: Activate Google Home
Before you can use the lock with Google Home, you must turn on the option in the lock's settings. Therefore, in the Sorex SmartLock – app go to "Google Home" and activate "Remote opening".
Then set a code under "Security code". This code will be requested later when opening a lock via voice command.
Note: The security code must be at least 4 digits long.
21.2 Google Home: Add lock
Login with your Google account or sign up in the Google Home – app.
To add smart locks to Google Home, first click on the (+) – icon on the top left corner on the home screen. Afterwards click on “Set up a device” and “Works with Google”.
Now search for the extension “ScienerSmart” and add it.
A login window will appear where you can login with the same access data as in your Sorex Smart Lock – app. Your account will now be linked to the Google Home application.
All smart locks which are compatible with Google Home can now be seen on the home screen under “Linked to you”.
The lock can now be unlocked with all connected Google Home – devices or trough voice commands on the Google Assistant – app.
21.3 Google Home: Open lock with voice control
In order to unlock the smart lock with voice control, Google – Assistant has to be activated. Afterwards a command like “Open the bedroom” can be said. Then confirm with the security code you have configured in the Sorex SmartLock – app.
- The lock will now be opened.
Note: To lock the “bedroom” by voice command, simply say “Lock the bedroom” and confirm with the security code.
