3. Installing the Battery
First, unscrew the screw at the bottom of the unit and then open the cover plate.
Insert 4 AAA batteries to put the device into operation. The device should now emit a beep. Then cover the back cover and tighten the screw.
4. Initial Setup
4.1 Activating Configuration Mode
To assign the wireless keyboard to a lock, first go to the desired lock in the SOREX SmartLock app, which will later be unlocked via the keyboard.
Then go to Settings → "Wireless Keyboard". A new keyboard can be added by pressing the button "Add Keyboard" at the bottom.
For the wireless keyboard to be recognised by the phone, press any key, then click "Next" when the display flashes.
If this does not happen, please tap "The display is not flashing" and select "Multifunctional Keyboard", enter "*529#" or press the reset button. After entering the code, the LED key "2468" should flash white. Then click "Next".
Note: *After pressing the reset button, the locks added to the keyboard will be deleted.
*To find the device, Bluetooth must be enabled and the smartphone must be
within the Bluetooth range of the keyboard.
*One lock can only add one keyboard, and one keyboard can be added to three locks.
4.2 Connecting the Keyboard
You can now select your keyboard and give it a name. Confirm with "OK".
The keyboard is now connected to the selected lock and can open it with all passcodes you have created. To open the lock, hold a card to the reader, place a finger on the sensor, or enter a valid code and then press Unlock.
Note: The lock can also be locked by pressing and holding the Unlock button.
Warning: Also ensure that the wireless keyboard is within the Bluetooth range of the lock.
The keyboard will now be displayed on the selected lock under Settings → "Wireless Keyboard".
Additionally, the current battery status of the keyboard will be shown.
4.3 Creating a Passcode
To generate a numeric code / PIN, first click on "Pincode" on the homepage of the desired lock and then on "Generate Pincode".
Several options are then available for generating a PIN. In the "Permanent" section, a random numeric code is generated and displayed after entering a name. Additionally, in the "Custom" section, you can create your own 4-9 digit number combination.
4.4 Medium
To add an RFID card, first click on "Medium" on the homepage of the desired lock and then on "Add Medium".
Now enter the user's name and press "OK". Then place the RFID card on the keypad as soon as the app prompts you. The RFID card has now been successfully added.
4.5 Learning Fingerprint
To add a fingerprint, first click on "Fingerprint" on the homepage of the desired lock and then on "Add Fingerprint".
You can now enter a name and choose whether the user has permanent or temporary access. After clicking "Next", please follow the instructions in the app to register the finger.
Note: When you place your finger on the sensor, the LED key "2468" lights up. You must remove your finger and place it on the sensor 4 times for registration.
4.6 Deleting the Keyboard
To delete a keyboard assigned to a lock, first click on "Settings" on the lock's homepage and then on "Wireless Keyboard".
Now select the wireless keyboard you want to remove from the lock. Enter "*529#" on the keyboard, then press "Delete" when the keys "2468" flash.
5. Adding Additional Locks
5.1 Admin Password
You can connect up to 3 locks with one codepad max 2.0.
To do this, you must first set an Admin Password.
Select the lock already added and press "Settings".
Then press "Basics".
Your current admin password will be displayed here.
It can also be changed here if necessary.
5.2 Adding Locks
To add another lock, follow the instructions in sections 4.1 and 4.2, with one exception.
Enter the following on the codepad max 2.0 to activate configuration mode:
"X529
Admin Password
"
The codepad max 2.0 will emit a short beep on success.
Then the next lock can be added normally via the app.
6. Resetting
You can reset the SOREX codepad max in the following ways:
1. Delete the codepad max from the app (Select Lock - Settings -
Wireless Keyboard - Delete). You must be within range of the unit to do this. or
2. Press the reset button on the indoor unit for about 3 seconds or until two beeps sound in quick succession.
Note: Since the password and card are stored in the lock, when adding another keyboard, the original password and card can be used, but the original fingerprint cannot be used. So you must remove the password and card from the
lock.
