3. Step by step assembly
3.1 Cylinder design
Top view
Front view (without plastic cap)
3.2 Insert battery
First remove the plastic cap on the outside knob and unscrew the cover of the battery compartment. You can now insert the battery. Then you can close the battery compartment again and screw the cover back on. This closes the battery contact, the cylinder lights up blue and plays an acoustic signal.
CAUTION: Only use 3.0V batteries, otherwise the cylinder could be damaged. Also note that you insert the battery into the cylinder with the "+" pole first.
3.3 Remove / adjust the inside knob of the cylinder
Use the enclosed Allen key to loosen the small screw in the inside knob. Depending on the required cylinder length, you can now adjust the inner length of the cylinder. Finally, you can screw the inside knob back in place. For installation in the door, the inside knob must be completely removed.
ATTENTION: Make sure that you insert the inside knob correctly onto the cylinder (note holes for screwing tight).
3.4 Mounting on the door
Before you can start the assembly, you must remove your old cylinder. To do this, remove the centring screw (visible in the red circle). Then you can push the old cylinder through or pull it out.
3.4.1 From outside
First remove the inside knob of the cylinder. Now you can slide the SOREX FLEX Comfort cylinder into the lock case from the outside to the inside. Make sure that the side with the fingerprint sensor is on the outside of the door. After the cylinder has been pushed through the lock case, the cylinder must be fixed with the centring screw.
Once you have fixed the cylinder to the door using the centring screw, you can refit the inside knob. Here you can once again vary the length of the cylinder and then tighten it with the screw and the Allen key provided.
Caution: Because the cylinder on the outside can always be turned in one direction and locked in the other direction, it is possible to lock the door from the outside without first having to authenticate. When setting up the system for the first time, make sure that the opening direction is set correctly so that only locking without authentication is possible - see 3.3.
3.4.2 From inside
To do this, you must first release the outside knob from the cylinder by gently pulling on it while pressing down on the catch (marked red) on both sides.
Now you can insert the cylinder (without outside knob) from the inside through the lock case and fix it using the centring screw (see 2.4.1.). Then you can attach the outside knob to the rest of the cylinder again by inserting it into the cylinder from the outside.
Attention: Once the outside knob has been inserted into the installed cylinder, it can no longer be detached from the cylinder. This means that the cylinder can only be removed from the outside by removing the inside knob.
Attention: If your door is equipped with a protective rosette or fitting, installation can only be carried out from the inside. Disassembly can only be carried out from the outside, as the outside knob can no longer be removed at this time. Simply remove the pull protection when dismantling.
3.4.3 Covering of the PZ hole
If the cylinder bore is visible, for example because you have a thick door and the cylinder is therefore too short to close the bore, you can close it with the black covers supplied. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Fit the cylinder in the door
- Remove knob (outside knob must be removed before fitting in door)
- Put the cover through the cylinder and push it onto the cylinder bore hole
- Refit the knob
4. Smartphone App
Search for the SOREX SmartLock app in the Google Play Store or Apple Store and install it.
You can find instructions for the SOREX SmartLock app here.
5. Reset to factory settings
To reset the SOREX FLEX Comfort cylinder, you must delete it from the app (select cylinder -> Settings -> "Delete"). You must be near the cylinder during the process, as the cylinder is automatically reset via Bluetooth when it is deleted.
You can find more detailed instructions on how to do this here.
6. Opening via emergency key
If the cylinder can no longer be opened in the normal way (e.g. battery empty), you can open it with the emergency key supplied.
First remove the plastic cover of the FLEX Comfort (front of the outside knob) and insert the emergency key into the corresponding opening.
The emergency key can now be used to manually change the direction in which the cylinder should engage (locking direction). To do this, turn the key in one of the two directions until it stops in order to change the locking direction of the cylinder. After that, the cylinder can be turned in one direction and locked in the other (moves the nose).
Note: When opening by means of an emergency key, you turn the built-in electric motor of the cylinder "manually", whereby the locking mechanism is switched over.
Note: During emergency opening or manual changing of the locking direction, resistance is noticeable and normal due to the inertia of the electric motor.
